5 Quick Questions

with Jeremie Pellerin

May 17, 2017

Last year was the final year of university running for Jeremie Pellerin of Cocagne, N.B., who gave it all as a member of the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus, including a 32:35 10K cross country performance on Quebec’s Plains of Abraham for the 2016 USports University Championships .
His year also included a 32:49 10K in both the stifling heat and pouring rain of Ottawa Race Weekend in May, but he also left his mark in the Maritimes. Highlights included a 15:12 at the Miramichi March 5K , the fastest 5K time recorded in the Maritimes in 2016, as well as a 33:44 to win the Bathurst 10K , and a 1:09:12 at the 3 50e Demi-marathon de l’Acadie in Tracadie-Sheila in December, the fastest time of the year on that course.
Maritime Runner caught up with Pellerin recently for 5 Quick Questions.

Q: Favourite distance?
A: I like the 10km and the half marathon, but anything in between is fun.

Q: Current/favourite shoe?
A: Nike Zoom Streak LT 3, because they are so light and responsive!

Q: Fuel before/during a run?
A: A bagel, one banana and a couple of sips of water every 30 minutes prior to the race.

Q: Music?
A: When I do my run alone, yes, but not with training partners. Bryan Adams has a couple of songs on my playlist.

Q: Favourite Maritime race?
A: Demi-Marathon de l'Acadie (21.1K) because it's a point-to-point, very fast course.

Having taken 4-5 weeks off running due to an injury, and now adjusting to a new job, Pellerin is working on his fitness and not yet decided on his next goals, but has his eyes on the Miramichi Rock N Run 10K on June 25, the George Gallant 10K in Shediac on July 8, and the 5K de Lameque on Aug. 5..

Jeremie Pellerin has his eye on a few upcoming races.
