QUISPAMSIS, N.B. – With participants ranging in age from seven to 76, the Valley Christian Academy’s annual 5K family fun run had something for everyone.
Organizer Katie Molloy said the event, which raises money for the school gym programs, went really well but ran into some cold, foggy conditions.
“It was very cold,” said Molloy.
“We didn’t get the numbers I had hoped but I think that was because of the cold and foggy weather. We did match last year though.”

While she did not have a final count on the funds raised, she said indications showed them to be on target, and that she was hoping to give her school’s physical education program a much-needed upgrade.
The top finisher was Bruce Rosvall at 19:36, followed by Matt Hanson at 24:57, and Jacques Desjardins at 25:36. Top females were Lizzie Hanson at 25:55, Megan Millbury at 26:22 and Joanne Ling at 30:14.
“There was a great community atmosphere of cheering each other on,” said Molloy. “I am so proud of my students.”
