MONCTON, N.B. – The planes will be grounded but the runners will be taking off here on Sunday, as the Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport hosts the annual YQM Runway Run.
The Sept. 10 event will be organized in partnership with The Running Room, and will take place at the former airport terminal building in Dieppe, N.B., at 1685 Champlain Street.
The 5K run/walk will take place on the airport’s runway, and will serve as a fundraiser for the United Way of Greater Moncton.

“It’s not often that get to cross the security line and get to see the airport from another angle,” said Charline Ouellet, marketing coordinator at the airport. “Runners enjoy it because it’s a nice flat surface, with a great view.”
Each participant 18 and older will receive a ballot for a chance to win a trip for two with Porter Airlines.
Spectators are also welcome at the race, which will kick off at 8 a.m.
