CHARLOTTETOWN – It was exactly how a Running Room store should celebrate its birthday – with a run.
The Charlottetown store held its sixth annual birthday celebration on Saturday, April 8 with 5K and 3K walk/runs, followed by some post-run cake back at the store.
“It was a great day here,” said Jennifer Hanus, events coordinator for Prince Edward Island. “The temperature was a bit on the cool side, but the runners didn’t seem to mind.”

Krissie Adams was among the 5K runners who enjoyed the morning event.
“Everyone who participated, either running the 5K or the 3K option, all seemed to have a great time,” said Adams. “The temperature was great and both the road and trail conditions were in good shape, considering Charlottetown had a lot of rain the day before. The nice temperature seemed to have everyone in good spirits anyway.”
Hanus was not only happy with the weather, but also with the turnout, which saw 26 of the 30 people who registered come out and take part.
The route started and finished at the store location on Great George Street, proceeding to the Confederation Trail towards the Charlottetown farmers market.
