FREDERICTON – It’s your chance to be a super hero.
Autism Connections Fredericton is hosting its annual Super Hero Fun Walk/Run on Saturday, June 3 to raise funds and awareness for the cause.
“Cities across Canada plan walks/runs like ours in an effort to promote awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),” explained Kailey DeLucry, a summer student working for Autism Connections Fredericton.
The foundation is a non-profit organization committed to helping individuals with ASD, their families, friends and professionals working with them in the greater Fredericton area.

The current staff consists of executive director Rick Hutchins and summer students DeLucry, Claire Logan and Chantelle Masterson.
The event is put on by the foundation as a fundraiser.
“Ideally, we would love to raise $10,000,” said DeLucry. “We are under new directorship though, so as a team this is our first time planning the event.”
The 2K walk and 5K run will take place at Odell Park. The walk will be across relatively easy terrain, accessible by wheelchair and stroller.
“It is our first time implementing the run portion of the event,” she said.
