CHARLOTTETOWN – The Running Room store here has a birthday coming up, and has the perfect way to celebrate it.
The store will host its annual birthday celebration on Saturday, April 8 with run/walk options at both the 5K and 3K distances.
“It is a fundraiser for the IWK Health Centre but it is also a fun run with cake at the finish,” said race director Jennifer Hanus. “It is not a competitive race; most of the runners coming out are just there for fun.”

The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at The Running Room, which is located at 60 University Avenue. Runners and walkers will head for the Confederation Trail for an out-and-back course.
All are welcome to come out and take part, the more the merrier.
“For the last couple of years, the numbers have been really low, and we are hoping to have more this year,” said Hanus, who said 20 would be a good number.
